The CMOS
This guide is for accessing the BIOS when you cant access it because of the password protect.
Draining the power supply
Estimated time: 1s-1hThere is often a small battery on the motherboard that can be removed to drain the power on the motherboard. Even if the battery is removed the motherboard can store power up to 1 hour. The time that it takes for the power to drain differs between computers.
Do as follow:
1. Unplug all cords and main batteries.
2. Open up the case so you can see the interior.
3. Touch a radiator, to lead any static electricity away from you. (You might accidentally unload a bolt into your motherboard)
4. Unplug the battery. (There is often a small "hinge" that you can unplug the battery with)
Resetting the BIOS with jumper
Estimated time: instantThere are often a small reset button (marked: "reset BIOS") right next to the battery, that can reset the core programming to its original state. It is quite small and says: "click" when pressed. (This is a procedure you are recommended with)
